Michael Caltabiano

Michael Caltabiano is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Road Research Board – the National Transport Research Organisation. He has over 25 years’ experience in the transport industry, with previous positions placing him in charge of the Australian Asphalt Pavement Association and as the director-general of the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. Michael was also an elected representative in State and Local Government for 10 years. Michael brings more than 35 years of experience, and great enthusiasm for the roads and transport sector with a particular focus on creating knowledge for tomorrow’s transport challenges and driving innovation to deliver an adaptable connected future.

Michael has an Honours degree in Civil Engineering from James Cook University, a Master of Philosophy from Nottingham University, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration is ais a qualified Company Director and Mediator.
