The Centre for Connected and Automated Transport (CCAT) invites you to attend this stakeholder event focused on the potential of connected and automated transport to address the ongoing challenge of road safety. Road safety remains a critical national priority, and the recent National FutureNationalFuture Transport Summit highlighted the opportunity to prioritise advancedroad technologies to accelerate progress toward eliminating deaths and seriousinjuries across transport networks, workplaces and strategic industries.

Attendees will hear from government and industry experts whowill share their perspectives on transport technologies, road safetystrategies, current initiatives and future areas of focus. Discussions willfocus on how existing and emerging connected and automated transport technologiescan strengthen road safety outcomes, improve the use of data in policy andinfrastructure decisions, enhance understanding of crash and near-misscausation and support a coordinated national approach to innovation, testingand deployment. A central focus of the discussion will be how differentcommunities in WA experience and perceive transport technologies, and thefactors that shape confidence, concern and expectations.

Building social trust is critical to the successful transitionto connected and automated transport in Australia. The event will explore howgovernments and industry can meaningfully engage communities to build trust,understanding and acceptance of technologies.
